How to reach Fukuoka
- After an international arrival, stay at the international terminal if a bus to Hakata Station or Tenjin suits your hotel. Check its current stop and operator timetable.
- For the subway, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to the domestic terminal. The airport’s subway guide identifies the international-terminal shuttle stop and the domestic-terminal subway entrance.
- From Fukuoka-kuko (Airport) Station, take the city subway to Hakata or Tenjin. Check your hotel’s closest exit before boarding.
From the city stop to your stay
Start with your hotel’s exact address. A station or bus terminal can serve several different neighborhoods; the right exit or local connection depends on where you are staying.
- Hakata
The subway and JR station connect at Hakata. Check whether your hotel is on the Hakata or Chikushi side before following an exit; the walk across the station can matter with luggage.
- Tenjin
Tenjin subway station and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) are connected through the district but are not the same platform. Choose the exit nearest your hotel or shopping-street address.
- International-terminal bus
If the bus stop is closer to your stay, remain at the international terminal. Confirm the stop name shown on your hotel map and the bus destination before paying.
Save the hotel address and its nearest station exit or bus stop offline before leaving the airport. The route diagrams above are simplified and do not replace live navigation.
When another route may fit
The international terminal also lists buses toward Hakata and Tenjin. Compare the bus stop with the shuttle-and-subway route if you have luggage.
The subway station is at the domestic terminal, not the international terminal.
