How to reach Sapporo
- From the international arrivals area, follow signs through the connecting walkway toward the domestic terminal and JR New Chitose Airport Station.
- Go down to the airport station and check the next Airport train toward Sapporo. The airport identifies a direct train to Sapporo; use the current JR timetable for your travel day.
- At Sapporo Station, make the final local connection or walk to your hotel. For an Otaru stay, check whether the selected Airport service continues beyond Sapporo.
From the city stop to your stay
Start with your hotel’s exact address. A station or bus terminal can serve several different neighborhoods; the right exit or local connection depends on where you are staying.
- JR Sapporo Station
For a hotel near the station, choose its nearest station exit before going upstairs. Do not assume the subway and JR platforms are the same place.
- Odori / Susukino
If your hotel is farther south, include a local subway ride or a walk from Sapporo Station. Compare that complete journey with an airport bus stop near your hotel.
- Otaru
Some Airport services continue beyond Sapporo, but confirm the destination on the train display. Otherwise plan a JR change at Sapporo.
Save the hotel address and its nearest station exit or bus stop offline before leaving the airport. The route diagrams above are simplified and do not replace live navigation.
When another route may fit
Airport buses serve other Sapporo stops. Compare a bus stop near your hotel against the JR station plus a local transfer, especially with bags.
International arrivals walk through the terminal connection to the JR station below the domestic area.
